‘STAR WARS: DESTINY’ ADDS FRESH DRAFT SET

‘Allies of Necessity’

Fantasy Flight Games will release a new draft set for its Star Wars: Destiny card and dice game in Q2.

The Star Wars: Destiny – Allies of Necessity Draft Set will include 20 new cards that can be used to supplement a player’s pool of cards in a draft or sealed event, and provide new options in constructed deck building. As with Rivals (see “‘Rivals Draft Set’ Adds New Formats for ‘Star Wars: Destiny’, players need only an Allies of Necessity and six Star Wars: Density booster packs to participate in a draft or sealed event.  The cards in Allies of Necessity Draft Set are reusable in as many drafts as the player participates in, they only need to purchase the set one time. MSRP is $14.95.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, and Allies of Necessity features a spread of hero, villain, and neutral cards for specific colors, and using these characters will give players a bonus if they play to the character’s color. There is also a fourth character, the Clawdite Shapeshifter, who is neutral and can deal indirect damage. There are multiple plot cards to help players customize during deckbuilding, including the game’s first 2 point plot, Allies of Necessity.

The latest booster set, Convergence, will release in Q1 (see “‘Star Wars: Destiny – Convergence Booster’”).

FFG recently announced changes to its Organized Play Programs (see “Fantasy Flight Implements Changes to 2019 Organized Play Programs”).
